Real Workshop Fixes for How to Fix 6 Times Red Light Blinking Issue on Sony KLV-40R352B
I got a Sony KLV-40R352B LED TV repaired in my workshop. It worked perfectly for a while, then suddenly the screen would turn off and the red light would blink six times.
Backlight testing
I checked its backlight with a tester. In this testing, I found its backlight strips to be completely correct. But I didn’t stop there. I opened its panel and checked the backlight strips in depth. That was absolutely correct.
Backlight circuit
BD9397EFV This IC is used in this circuit. Most technicians ground pin number 36 of this IC so that the protection is turned off. This is not my method. It is harmful. The original technician does the original fault finding. I think there is a fault in the circuit, which is causing the set to repeatedly give a 6-blink error.
6 time blink circuit problem
In this case, I turned off the protection of this IC and turned on the set. For a while, the set did not go to the six-blink error, but its backlight started blinking, clearly showing on the screen. Brightness up/down
6-blink fault trace
I began meticulously checking the resistors in its backlight circuit one by one. I checked each resistor by disconnecting it from the circuit. I found a resistor on the 34th pin of the IC that was faulty. This resistor is a 100K value in the 40-inch model. It had increased its value. When I checked it with a meter, its total value was above 200K. I changed it and turned on the protection, and my fault was completely fixed.

RT pin connection
The main purpose of this pin is to adjust the oscillation of the IC and keep it fixed in one place. Resistances are connected to this pin and grounded. Now it can be a single resistance or multiple resistances. As we saw in this case, three resistors have been used in it, connected to the RT pin. There are three resistors in series, out of which the first resistor has turned out to be bad.

Conclusion
In Sony, usually the fault is with the backlight in these models, but sometimes there is also a circuit problem. We should keep in mind that circuit problems should be tackled with extreme care and intelligence. Instead of opening its production and running it, this is not a solution. Getting to the root fault and fixing it is the essence of a good technician. Like in this case, you saw how we fixed the circuit, how we fixed its fault.
