I have a Sony KDL-55w800C This set was brought to my workshop for repair. It was in a completely off condition. Even the standby light was not turning on.
Fault Analysis
I opened the set in the lab and checked its power supply, etc.
Fault finding
Its main board was getting a 19-volt power supply, and a 5-volt supply was also being made, providing a 1.0-volt supply core voltage for the main system IC.The 3.3-volt regulator was also working fine.
NAND flash voltage
3.3V I was not able to reach the NAND flash. This was due to an internal fault in the PCB. I searched a lot to find out where this disconnect was located, but I couldn’t find it.So I bypassed those voltages which made my set work perfectly.
Conclusion
Often, the connection is lost due to corrosion inside the connecting holes of the PCB board. Normally, we trace it and repair it, but sometimes this is what happened to me in this case.
