sony-led-tv-2-blink-error-code-repair-solution
A Sony LED TV with model number KLV40W652D was brought to our repair center with a reported fault. The TV was displaying a 2 blink code, indicating a protection mode error. In this article, we will walk through the troubleshooting and repair process.
Troubleshooting
The first step in troubleshooting was to identify the reference point voltage, which is typically 2.1V for this model. However, upon measurement, we found that the voltage was not within the specified range. Further investigation revealed that the voltage divider resistor set, consisting of 10K and 82K resistors, was not functioning correctly.
Fault Identification
After analyzing the voltage divider resistor set, we discovered that the 82K resistor had increased in value, causing the fault. As shown in the photo below, the faulty resistor is indicated in the voltage divider circuit.
In this photo, the voltage divider circuit is highlighted, with the faulty 82K resistor indicated. This resistor was replaced with a new one to resolve the fault.
Repair
To repair the fault, we replaced the faulty 82K resistor with a new one. The replacement resistor was carefully selected to match the original specifications, ensuring that the TV would function correctly.
Conclusion
The successful repair of the Sony LED TV model KLV40W652D highlights the importance of accurate voltage divider resistor values in maintaining proper TV function. This case study demonstrates the importance of thorough troubleshooting and accurate component replacement in resolving complex electronic faults.
