Fix 2 Blink Error on Sony KLV-40EX430
A Sony LED TV model number KLV-40EX430 came to the workshop for repair. It had a fault in that it went into 2-blink protection as soon as it was turned on, and its standby red light kept blinking two times with a short interval. This TV has an external power supply that is 19 volts. When I first checked it, the voltage was correct.
Two Blink Protection

Fault finding 2 blink error
I am sharing my experience. I set my multimeter to buzzer mode and started checking the main power line 19 volts in turn with the resistors attached to the system IC. Here I found full continuity with one resistor. This resistor was connecting another resistor to ground. This was the voltage divider unit I was looking for. I checked the voltage at the common point of these resistors and found them to be very low.

I didn’t have the values of these resistors for this board, so I changed the voltage divider resistors according to the formula.I set R1 to 82K and R2 to 10K. The R1 resistor was bad, so I replaced it.Now I turned it on, and my TV is working perfectly.

To better understand the two-blink fault finding, I have also included a picture with the faulty parts marked in it. You can see that the voltage divider is faulty.

A two blink fault is usually a power supply fault. In this case, you can see that this fault is caused by a reference not reaching the system IC, which is caused by a voltage divider resistor failure.We fixed this fault by replacing the faulty resistors. My advice is to do this work with extreme patience. Replacing the entire board is quite costly.
