sony half screen vertical lines fix
A Sony KLV-32EX300 LED TV came to my workshop with a complaint of half screen vertical lines. The customer reported that the set would sometimes work normally, but the Vertical lines are usually present.
Fault Finding and Diagnosis
I started fault finding by opening the back cover of the set and checking the scaler strip. All the voltages were correct, but I found a scan driver IC near the left side of the COF.
Repair and Solution
checked the resistors and capacitors around the scan driver IC and found that one of the resistors, R71, was faulty. The resistor had a value of 10 ohms, but it had increased its value.
Replacement and Testing
I replaced the resistor and the fault was fixed. The TV is now working normally without any vertical lines.
