Tcl 32p11E dead solution
A TCL model Tcl 32p11E was brought in for repair as it was completely dead with no pilot light. Upon inspection, the mains supply showed twelve volts, but the necessary two volts was not being produced due to a defective buck converter IC (U803). After confirming that the voltage divider resistors were fine and the output line was not shorted, I concluded the IC was faulty. Lacking a replacement, I modified the circuit using an IC from a Chinese combo board, successfully restoring the two volts, which resulted in the pilot light coming on and the set functioning correctly.
